The insurance space is changing rapidly. New ways of creating value from data are evolving at a daily pace. Within Allianz Benelux, we are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who can build and technically drive the implementation of next generation insur-tech data products.
What are you going to do?
Drive the industry’s most innovative data products together with the company’s business all the way to their daily operations in production
Analyze Business issues and opportunities,
Design, develop and maintain innovative EtoE solution, including data science models
Coach and guide other data scientists and multi-disciplinary squad members
Support the squad and the end-users on EtoE functionalities developments, processes improvement, Data Product Optimization
Work with the stakeholders in agile mode to ensure incremental value delivery, flexibility, and continuous enhancements
What does the team and department look like?
You will be working within our Business Transformation Unit, in a project team of 25 people, 9 of which are your Allianz Colleagues and fellow digital transformation professionals. This project will ensure that our underwriters will be able to work more efficiently and effectively.

What will you bring on the table?
MS or Ph.D. in quantitative fields (e.g., Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Operational Research or Engineering)
Strong intellectual curiosity, along with excellent problem-solving and quantitative skills, eager to acquire Data & Business expertise not all related to Data Science (e.g. software engineering, insurance underwriting, pricing, claims handling,…)
Your English is excellent, and speaking French or Dutch is a plus (but not mandatory).
5+ years of hands-on industry experience in data science, machine learning, statistics in a high velocity environment
Hands-on experience in MLOps including deploying ML pipelines, maintaining and monitoring ML models in production.
Strong coding skills in Python and SQL
Advanced knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques (GLMs, boosted trees, SVM, neural networks etc.), as well as NLP in document classification
You have strong communication skills and the ability to communicate analytical and technical content in an easy understandable way
Experience in guiding, training and coaching junior profiles
Nice to have
Knowledge of the finance/insurance sector is a plus but not mandatory
Experience with software engineering principles around containerization, APIs, version control and CI/CD.
Experience in Deep learning for NLP/CV using Pytorch/Tensorflow.
